Delete your account, or a competitor's under 18 you look after: what goes, what clubs must keep without your name, the 30-day wait and how to cancel.
Asking for it
- 1Open Delete your account (also Delete my account in your account, and in the GT Motorsport apps). Sign in first.
- 2Read what is deleted and what is kept, tick that you understand, and press Ask to delete your account.
- 3Confirm it: press the button in the email we send you (it works for 24 hours). If you use two-step sign-in, you can enter your two-step code on the page instead.
- 4The account is deleted 30 days after you confirm. Until then the page says the date and has Cancel the deletion; we email you the date and how to cancel.
Take care: After the 30 days it can't be undone: the account, its sign-in and its personal details are gone.
What is deleted and what is kept
Deleted: your sign-in (email, password, two-step sign-in, saved devices and app notifications), your name, photo and saved signature, your address, phone numbers, date of birth and emergency contact, medical information, licence details and licence photos, your driver profile, My Kit and transponder numbers. Your club memberships end.
Kept, without your name in them (they show "Anonymised competitor"):
- Results, lap times, records and championship points, so everyone else's results stay right.
- Officiating records clubs must keep under Motorsport UK rules: entries, signing-on, scrutineering, incidents, penalties and decisions, and any work as an official.
- Money records clubs must keep by law: orders, payments, refunds and invoices, with their amounts and dates.
This is the same anonymisation the platform does for everyone after the record-keeping period: see the privacy policy.
When it can't be done yet
The page says why, and what to do:
- An unpaid order
- Pay it or ask the club to cancel it first, so the club's accounts are straight.
- A meeting under way
- You are entered at an event happening today. Ask again once it is over: results, penalties and decisions must be finished first.
- An event still to come
- Withdraw from it first, from your account or by asking the club, so the club can sort out any refund.
- Competitors you look after
- Delete their accounts first, or ask the club to pass them to another parent or guardian.
The same checks are made again on the day. If something stops it then, or a club has to keep the records for an ongoing matter (a case hold), it waits and is done as soon as it can be.
Parents and guardians
You can delete the account of a competitor under 18 you look after: choose them at the top of the page. Once a competitor is 18 only they can delete their account, and nobody can delete another adult's account.
