1. In short
Green Turtle Timing only uses cookies and browser storage that the site needs to work, such as keeping you signed in, keeping sign-in secure, and letting race-day desks keep working without signal. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and no other company sets cookies through our pages.
Because these are strictly necessary, the law does not require us to ask first, so you will not see a cookie banner. If you block them in your browser, signing in and some pages will not work.
3. Other browser storage
Some pages also keep things on your device, in the browser’s local storage, IndexedDB or offline cache. These never leave your device unless the page sends them to us as part of what you are doing.
Your settings
- Accessibility settings (text size, contrast, motion), the light or dark look of the officials’ desks, sound on or off, sort orders and views.
- Prompts you have dismissed, such as “add to home screen” or saving a signature.
- Karts you have picked to compare or follow on live timing.
Race-day desks working offline
On a race day the officials’ desks (scrutineering, front fairing, incidents, medical, sound tests and others) keep drafts and an outbox of records, photos and videos on the device while there is no signal, and send them when the connection returns. They are removed from the device once the cloud has them.
Offline pages
A service worker keeps a copy of the site’s main pages and files so they open quickly and work with a weak signal.
Kiosks
A tablet a club pairs as a sign-on kiosk keeps its pairing key, so it stays paired.
4. Other companies
Fonts are served from our own site. When you pay a club, you are taken to (or shown) its payment provider’s page (Square or Stripe), which may set its own cookies for security and fraud prevention under its own policy. Following a link to another site, such as OpenStreetMap or the status page, is covered by that site’s policy.
5. Managing cookies
You can see and delete cookies and site data in your browser’s settings. Signing out ends your session. Clearing site data on a race-day device also removes anything still waiting to be sent, so let the desk finish sending first. More about how we handle data is in the privacy policy.
